Pastors Jeff and Deanna Branaman just relocated to Newport, Oregon in August of 2009. They were most recently the pastors for the Nazarene Church in Sedona, Arizona prior to accepting positions at Newport Nazarene. They are thrilled to call Newport their new home, and have already fallen in love with the people, the ocean, and yes, the climate! (You can only take so much sunshine!)
Jeff and Deanna have been married for 9 years. They have three grown children between them; two sons, Magnus and Joshua, and one daughter, Sara. Magnus is married to Lindsey, and they have a 6 year old little boy named Collin. Sara is married to Renny, and has two sons, Karson and Jordan, and a little girl on the way. Both Magnus and Joshua serve in the U.S. Navy.
Deanna earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. She has a Biblical Teaching certificate from a two year course of study with Florida International School of the Bible, and is currently completing ordination classes through Nazarene Bible College. She served as the worship pastor at Christ Center Wesleyan church in Sedona, prior to accepting the position as associate pastor/worship pastor at the Nazarene church in Sedona.
“I cannot remember a time when music was not a part of my life,” she states. “My brother Mike and I would sing and harmonize together when we were very little. We played every instrument we could find. We thought it was just normal! Now I know it was God’s training ground for my life’s call!”
“My favorite scripture is found in Philippians 1:20: ‘For I fully expect and hope that I will never be ashamed, but that I will continue to be bold for Christ, as I have been in the past. And I trust that my life will bring honor to Christ, whether I live or die.”
